The food here is delicious, however it is pricey for the small portions you get. ItÒ€ℒs a cute japanese eatery in a quiet area. Good ambiance in the restaurant with friendly and polite servers as you usually expect in a japanese run business.

The food and service reminds me of Japan. One of the best Japanese restaurants in the city :)

Amazing meal. Maybe the most unique but still authentic Japanese food we've had since leaving Japan itself. Flavors are vivid and unexpected, and presentation is beautiful. Prices don't seem like a lot individually, but portions are tapa-sized so it can quickly add up. You won't go wrong with anything on the menu, and everything from the drinks to the desserts are just as good as the dishes in between. Came here for a birthday and probably won't be able to afford to come back until the next occasion lol, but this is definitely up there as some of the best representation of Japanese food in the city.

Had their Omakasen set on ValentineÒ€ℒs Day, itÒ€ℒs pricey but the over all food quality was very good and presentation was cute. I wouldnÒ€ℒt say the service was excellent but itÒ€ℒs good. Recommended.

Good food, decor and atmosphere. On the pricier side especially given the area but I would definitely come again. We were a but overwhelmed with the menu as they have the regular menu as well as seasonal menu - both had a lot of selection. We just ended up asking our waiter for recommendations. As the dishes were small, its great for groups to share

Food was great! I used to go to zest(yuwa) where the the head chef of Stem used to work I heard he opened up a new restaurant here so I wanted to give it a try.. food was great although I would've enjoyed more if there were some rolls on their menu.. Service was not very outstanding when we walked in, the place was empty and the server was saying it was fully booked so we can only sit at the bar. We were sitting there for 90mins-ish and when we were about to grab our bill we saw a few empty tables we could've sat.. and we were never checked out if everything was ok and I have to sit by a pile of dirty dishes and empty beer bottles cus staffs weren't paying attention to it although they weren't that busy I understand that the owner of this place wanted to hire Japanese servers but I was kinda wishing the servers spoke better English so we can understand better.. I wouldn't go back here only because of their service.

Cute higher end Japanese restaurant in South Burnaby neighbourhood. There is lots to choose from on their extensive list of regular and seasonal menu items ranging from, yummy appetizers, sashimi, nigiri, cones, tempura, cooked dishes and dessert. Wine and beer is available as well. The menu is on the pricier end. However, the chef does make an big effort to offer unique dishes in addition to the variety of fresh sashimi which makes for a great place to visit for something different. From the seasonal menu, I particularly enjoyed the uni crab cocotte with the buttery rice. The hokkaido hotate nigiri was the favourite from the regular menu. I did not enjoy the taste of the grey fat left on the Sockeye Salmon sashimi despite knowing that the dark meat of salmon has a lot of Omega 3. Everything was beautifully presented. Our server was friendly and the staff seemed to work together well. Overall a nice experience trying out some different menu items.

The food was delicate and the menu was quite unique. It was quite overpriced though. Their noodles and soba were really good - probably the best I have had at a Japanese restaurant.

Unique sushi experience. With some traditional Japanese music vibe.Pros: - food was decent and never before had some of dishes. Chef was creative but just lacked a flavorful punch to pull each dish together - decor was kind of homey and zen feel- kid friendly with some cute kid dishes with Pokémon packaged sesame sprinklesCons:- customer service was average Recommendation:- an above average sushi place in Burnaby

Wonderful in every way. Food, including the best local fish, wine, decor. Following the trend of amazing food in unusual places. Royal Oak neighbourhood in Burnaby. Super safe, pretty good parking.

Sashimi portions were too small for the price. If you like sashimi, this isn't the place. I would rather favor the cooked food on the menu for this place like the udon, greentea soba, tempura and grilled/baked items.

Very good! We ordered seafood don and tuna don. We have not had chu-Toro for a long time. Soooooo delicious. Uni was very fresh too. Wine 50% off on Wednesdays!!! Dishes are a bit pricey, but I will continue to support this restaurant! I hope to sit in the restaurant and enjoy the food very soon.

All the dishes we had were very tasty and special. Should be the best Japanese food in burnaby so far. However, the unagi nigiri was a bit too expensive, not really worth it.

It was $80 for the seasonal one, and there is an optional dessert for an additional $6. They also have a sushi Omakase and market price Omakase (this one you need to reserve in advance though). Not sure what the prices are for the last 2
